Move In / Out Cleaning
Move-in and move-out cleaning involves a deep and thorough cleaning of a space before new tenants move in or after old tenants move out. This type of cleaning is more detailed than regular maintenance cleaning and we focus on preparing the space for new occupants.
Here's a step-by-step process for move-in/move-out cleaning:
Gather Supplies:
1We collect all the necessary cleaning supplies and equipment, including brooms, mops, vacuum cleaners, microfiber cloths, cleaning solutions (all-purpose cleaner, glass cleaner, disinfectant), scrub brushes, dusters, garbage bags, gloves, and any specialized cleaning tools.
Empty Space:
2If the property is not already vacant, remove all belongings, furniture, and personal items from the space. This allows us to clean every corner thoroughly.
Dusting
3Start from the top and we work our way down. Dust light fixtures, ceiling fans, vents, and all surfaces. Clean corners, baseboards, and windowsills. If applicable, remove and clean light covers or fixtures.
Wipe Down Surfaces
4Clean and disinfect all surfaces, including countertops, shelves, cabinets (inside and out), and appliances. We pay special attention to the kitchen and bathrooms, where hygiene is crucial.
Kitchen
5Deep clean the kitchen appliances, both inside and out. Clean the oven, stovetop, microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher. Clean and sanitize the sink, faucet, and any visible plumbing fixtures.
Bathrooms
6Scrub and sanitize all bathroom fixtures, including the toilet, bathtub, shower, sink, and faucets. Clean and disinfect tiles, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
Floors
7Vacuum and mop all floors, paying attention to corners and edges. If carpets are present, we consider steam cleaning them to remove deep-seated dirt and odors.
Windows and Glass
8Clean windows, glass doors, and mirrors using an appropriate glass cleaner. Ensure streak-free results by using a microfiber cloth or a squeegee.
Windows and Glass
9Clean windows, glass doors, and mirrors using an appropriate glass cleaner. We ensure streak-free results by using a microfiber cloth or a squeegee.
Baseboards and Trim
9Wipe down and clean baseboards, door frames, and window sills. These areas tend to accumulate dust and dirt over time.
Light Fixtures
10Dust and clean light fixtures and ceiling fans. Replace any burnt-out light bulbs.
Vents and Air Filters
11If applicable, clean or replace air vents and filters to ensure clean air circulation. (Additional Charge Required)
Exterior Areas
12If there's an outdoor space like a balcony, patio, or entryway, we ensure it's clean and tidy as well.
Final Check
13Do a thorough walkthrough of the space to ensure every area has been cleaned. Check for any missed spots or overlooked areas.
Disposal
14Properly dispose of any trash, debris, and cleaning supplies we have used during the cleaning process.
Documentation
15If we are performing move-out cleaning as a tenant, we take photos of the cleaned space to document its condition in case of disputes with the landlord.
Optional Add-Ons
16Depending on the condition of the space, we might consider additional tasks like steam cleaning carpets, polishing hardwood floors, or applying a fresh coat of paint if needed.
Move-in/move-out cleaning is meticulous and time-consuming, but it ensures that the property is in the best possible condition for new occupants or for the landlord's inspection after a tenant moves out.
